Who we are
Studio 13 is a community of artists, designers, and critical thinkers who create in a common space. This book is a compilation of their work in no particular order. Anthony Grant, Sameena Sitabkhan, and Curtis Wissler have varied professional and artistic backgrounds that intersect at collage.
Anthony Grant
Anthony Grant is a Bay Area-based collage artist who defies conventional interpretations of his work, inviting viewers to embark on their own journeys of discovery. His art seamlessly blends digital and analog techniques, breathing new life into found and original imagery. Grant's collages are deeply rooted in his background, drawing inspiration from vintage African American publications, hip hop music, and the complexities of modern society.
Born in the Bronx, New York, Grant's artistic sensibilities were nurtured from a young age. He honed his skills as a graphic designer at the International Fine Arts College in Miami, Florida. He currently resides and creates in the neighboring towns of El Cerrito and Emeryville, California. His artistic journey has been marked by steady growth and recognition, with his recent focus on collage garnering significant attention.

Sameena Sitabkhan
I am the daughter of Indian immigrants, and grew up in Los Angeles. As a practicing architect, I care about spatial justice and empowering the next generation.
My work is an exploration of my own layered histories, and an attempt to twist all of this together. I draw from the messy and imperfect spaces around me, and from the dissonant cultural influences that shape me. I work in collage/mixed media and installation, solo and in collaboration.

Through my work, I am exploring the emotional spectrum of what it is to be human in such a strange reality. Although my style and methods range from restrained to chaotic, my goal is to capture an impression, an experience, an emotion that strikes a personal chord within you, the viewer, as well.
